Amando Drake Neal, 40, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021, at the Lutheran Home, after a long, hard fight with chronic illness.
He was born Feb. 27, 1981, in Evansville, Indiana, to Alvis D. Lanton and Dana R. Neal. He and Melia S. Moore were married July 7, 2013, at Cape Girardeau.
He was employed as a medical billing coder in health care.
Survivors include his wife, Melia S. Neal of Cape Girardeau; father, Alvis D. (Kala) Lanton of Conway, Arkansas; three sons, Amando D. Neal Jr. and Amarayon D. Neal, both of Cape Girardeau, and Amir D. Neal of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two daughters, Aaliyah D. Neal of Cape Girardeau and Amari D. Neal of Hinesville, Georgia; a brother, Michael A. Thomas of Harrisburg, Illinois; and two sisters, Sandra Castro of Kansas City, Kansas, and Allecia N. Lanton of Houston, Texas.
Amando was preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Sarah M. Lanton.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
