BLOOMFIELD -- Alvin Curtis "Sonny" McRoy, 61, of Bloomfield, died Saturday, April 2, 1994, at the Dexter Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 24, 1932, at Bloomfield, son of Harvey and Martha Jennings McRoy.
He married Welma Johns, Dec. 20, 1958.
McRoy owned and operated Tom's Snacks for the past 25 years. He served in the Bloomfield City Council in the 1970s.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Donald McRoy of Dexter; three daughters, Elaine Roberts and Lana Hindman, both of Dexter; Laura Helle of Cape Girardeau; four brothers, Calvin McRoy, H.M. McRoy and Ronnie McRoy, all of Bloomfield, Don McRoy of East Alton, Ill.; five sisters, Eileen Crowe, Velma Kingree and Geraldine Harris, all of Bloomfield, Virginia Hendrix of Chaffee, Vivian Patterson of the state of Florida; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Vyron Yount and the Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating.
Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery, near Bloomfield.
