SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Alvina Catherine Sandvos, 85, of Scott City died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at Jackson Manor in Jackson, Mo.
She was born Dec. 28, 1914, in Kelso, daughter of the late Lawrence and Amelia Etter Mirgaux. She and Walter "Bud" Sandvos were married Dec. 21, 1930. He died May 3, 1989.
She had worked as a cook at St. Joseph Catholic School. She also had worked at Ely Walker and Ralph Edwards Sportswear.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph and Henry Mirgaux, both of Scott City; one daughter, Mary Koehler of Scott City; one sister, Evelyn Braun of Scott City; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call today from 4-8 p.m.. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City. Parish rosary will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. David Coon officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel of Scott City.
