PULASKI, Ill. -- Alvin W. Schukar, 81, of Pulaski, formerly of Ullin, Ill., died Friday, May 26, 1995, at the home of his sister in Pulaski. He was born Sept. 14, 1913, at Olmsted, Ill., son of George and Rosina Jacobsmeyer Schukar. He and Leola Taake were married Oct. 8, 1938, at Olmsted. She died Oct. 15, 1993...

PULASKI, Ill. -- Alvin W. Schukar, 81, of Pulaski, formerly of Ullin, Ill., died Friday, May 26, 1995, at the home of his sister in Pulaski.

He was born Sept. 14, 1913, at Olmsted, Ill., son of George and Rosina Jacobsmeyer Schukar. He and Leola Taake were married Oct. 8, 1938, at Olmsted. She died Oct. 15, 1993.

He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Olmsted and held many church offices. He served as church secretary for 20 years.

He was a member of the Pulaski-Alexander Farm Bureau. He received certificates of merit for "Outstanding Accomplishment in Soil Conservation" from the Pulaski-Alexander Soil Conservation District from 1956 to 1958.

Survivors include his sister, Ora Essex of Pulaski.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Crain Funeral Home in Ullin and after 11 a.m. Sunday at St. Luke Lutheran Church.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church. The Rev. David Kollmeyer will officiate, with burial in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.
