KELSO -- Alvin George Moore, 85, of Kelso, died Thursday, March 7, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 23, 1910, at Allenville, son of Lewis and Fredia Buck Moore. He first married Bernice Smith Dec. 24, 1929. She died July 6, 1970. He later married Thelma Sledge Ward Feb. 10, 1973, in Jonesboro, Ill.
Moore was a side laster at International Shoe Co. and Florsheim Shoe Co., retiring in 1973. Formerly of Cape Girardeau, he moved to Kelso in 1973.
He attended Clearview Baptist Church in Scott City.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Danny Moore of Painton; a stepson, Ronald Ward of Scott City; a brother, Milburn Moore of Kansas City; a sister, Lillian Kirk of Fisk; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and three stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Lester Dale officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
