JACKSON, Mo. -- Alvin J. Lohman, 98, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, in Jackson, Mo., at his daughter's home.
He was born Oct. 26, 1902, in Friedheim, Mo., son of Antone and Matilda Kaiser Lohman. He and Beulah M. Tuschhoff were married March 20, 1923. She died Jan. 20, 1996.
In 1947, Lohman moved from Friedheim to Jackson. He worked 18 years as a heavy equipment operator for the Cape Girardeau County Road District and then worked 11 years as custodian at the Cape Girardeau County Courthouse. He retired in 1967.
He became a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in 1974.
Survivors include two sons, Glenn Lohman of Jackson and Willard Lohman of Yorba Linda, Calif.; three daughters, Shirley Lohman and Anna Dean Statler, both of Jackson, and Ruth Ann Dunivan of Ironton, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter grandson, four brothers, two sisters and a stepbrother.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. David Johnson will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.
