PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Alvin L. Heberlie, 76, of Perryville died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at the Missouri Veterans Home. He was born Nov. 15, 1935, in Ste. PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Alvin L. Heberlie, 76, of Perryville died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at the Missouri Veterans Home.

He was born Nov. 15, 1935, in Ste. Genevieve County, Mo., son of Dennis P. and Laura Hoffman Heberlie. He and Ethel R. Brewster were married July 22, 1961. She survives in Perryville.

Mr. Heberlie was a mechanic for Barley & Chase in Ste. Genevieve and former owner of Park-Et Restaurant. He was a member of Saline Baptist Church at Minnith, Mo., a U.S. Navy Korean War veteran, and a member of the American Legion Post 133 in Perryville. He loved his family and gardening.

Survivors include one daughter, Lori (Terry) Duvall of Perryville; one son Kevin (Connie) Heberlie of Perryville; three sisters, Cleta Giesler of St. Mary, Mo., Hilda Hahn of Ste. Genevieve and Virginia Hayden of Perryville; six grandchildren, Tyler (Britty) Koenig, Britney (Jer) Graul, Courtney Heberlie, Zac Heberlie, Bryli Koenig and Luke Heberlie; two great-grandchildren, Fallon Graul and Roman Koenig.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dennis Jr. and Rudolph.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 6:30 to 9 a.m. Thursday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Saline Baptist Church in Minnith, with the Rev. Steve Berry officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside service provided by the U.S. Navy.

Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
