JACKSON -- Alvin Hanselmann, 82, of Jackson died Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born March 23, 1916, near Fruitland, son of August and Annie Nagel Hanselmann. He and Linda Friedrich were married Oct. 22, 1939. She died July 28, 1951. He later married Emma Dambach Jan. 17, 1954. She died Nov. 15, 1962...

JACKSON -- Alvin Hanselmann, 82, of Jackson died Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 23, 1916, near Fruitland, son of August and Annie Nagel Hanselmann. He and Linda Friedrich were married Oct. 22, 1939. She died July 28, 1951. He later married Emma Dambach Jan. 17, 1954. She died Nov. 15, 1962.

Hanselmann farmed all his life, and also worked a number of years at International Shoe Co. He was a lifelong member of St. John's United Church of Christ, served on the church council and building committee. He also was a member of Cape County Pork Producers, Farm Bureau, and former member of Cape County Shipping Association.

Survivors include a son, Wayne Hanselmann of Jackson; and a sister, Alma Clingingsmith of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today, and Friday after 10 a.m. at St. John's Church.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. David Schaffner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
