McGhee, 79, died Thursday, April 20, 1995, at Illinois Veterans Home in Anna.

He was born Feb. 10, 1916, in Lyons, Kan., son of Thomas J. and Myrtle Matheny McGhee. He and Joyce Gunn were married Oct. 24, 1948, in Osceola, Ark.

McGhee retired from the Illinois Highway Department in 1976. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Anna. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1938-48.

Survivors include his wife, and a sister, Edith McDonald of Reno, Nev.

He was preceded in death by a brother.
