SCOTT CITY -- Alvin Franklin Busher, 55, of Scott City died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998, at his home.

He was born March 2, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, son of Frank W. and Mattie Marie Gore Busher. He and Betty Noel were married Jan. 29, 1979, in Scott City.

Busher had worked on off-shore oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. He also had worked at Florsheim Shoe Co., on the Mississippi River Bridge, and at Cape Vault. He was a member of New Life Congregational Methodist Church.

He moved to Scott City in 1979 from Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Clinton and Dale Stickel of Scott City; a daughter, Jenny Voorhes of Jackson; his mother, Mattie Smith of Scott City; three brothers, Edward and Julious Busher of Wichita, Kan., Lonnie Busher of Scott City; a sister, Lula Rhyne of Scott City; 10 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Rennie Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
