MOREHOUSE -- Alvie J. Towel, 75, of Morehouse, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 1994, at his home. He was born May 27, 1919, in Clarksville, Ark., son of Homer and Myrtle Hite Towel. He and Mary E. Dempsey were married Sept. 20, 1938, in Bloomfield. Towel had worked for Bridger Plumbing and Heating Co., and was a former firefighter with Morehouse Fire Department. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II...

MOREHOUSE -- Alvie J. Towel, 75, of Morehouse, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 1994, at his home.

He was born May 27, 1919, in Clarksville, Ark., son of Homer and Myrtle Hite Towel. He and Mary E. Dempsey were married Sept. 20, 1938, in Bloomfield.

Towel had worked for Bridger Plumbing and Heating Co., and was a former firefighter with Morehouse Fire Department. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, and a half sister, Dessie Freeman Waller of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by a half brother and half sister.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Robert Lafferty officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
