MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Alvester Filer Baker, 82, of Marble Hill died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 23, 1927, at Marble Hill, son of Ira Lee and Flora A. Filer Baker.

Mr. Baker was a farmer and a member of Lutesville General Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Richard Lee Baker of Clarksville, Tenn.; two daughters, Sharon Lindsay of Sedgewickville, Mo., Patricia Perry of Cape Girardeau; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Renee Baker and Marsha Davisson; and a sister.

Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until time of service at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jerry Sander officiating. Private burial will be at a later date.
