Alveda Nation

Margaret Alveda Nation, 68, of Scott City died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, at her home.

She was born Nov. 13, 1934, at Fornfelt, Mo., daughter of Hugh Alvida and Helen Margaret Stone Spriggs. She and Paul L. Nation were married April 3, 1953, at Ancell, Mo.

Mrs. Nation was a domestic engineer before retirement. She was a former member of Wesleyan Methodist Church.

Survivors include her mother, Helen Brant of Scott City; her husband, Paul Nation of Scott City; a son and daughter-in-law, Garry and Sheila Nation of Scott City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Robert Eachus of Patton, Mo., and Dorothy and Mark Newell of Scott City.

Also surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Judy Brant of Scott City; a half brother, Oscar Spriggs of Louisville, Ky.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Sue and Rich Wright and Karry Dawn Brant, all of Scott City; five grandchildren, James and Jessica Eachus and John Eachus of Belleville, Ill., Cassandra Eachus of International Falls, Minn., Larry Nation of Scott City, Alana Newell of Scott City; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by an infant son and two sisters.

Friends may call Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from noon to service time.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Rennie Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
