Alva E. Hardin, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Nov. 22, at the Bond Nursing Home in Marble Hill. He was born June 16, 1912, in Sikeston, to Elvis and Mina Hardin. On June 6, 1942, he married Goldie Moore in Cape Girardeau. Alva E. Hardin, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Nov. 22, at the Bond Nursing Home in Marble Hill.

He was born June 16, 1912, in Sikeston, to Elvis and Mina Hardin.

On June 6, 1942, he married Goldie Moore in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Hardin of Cape Girardeau, and Paul Hardin of Farmington; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Griffith of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Grace Potts of Glendale, Calif.

Eight grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren also survive.

Hardin lived most of his life in Southeast Missouri. He worked on the river, in the construction industry, and drove a cab.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel today from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be led at the chapel at 1:30 p.m., Monday, with the Rev. Earl Cox and the Rev. John Gourley officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
