Graveside service for Alton D. "Tom" Thomas of Mt. Vernon, Ill., will be held at 1 p.m. today at Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. Jim Duncan will officiate.
Hughey Funeral Home of Mt. Vernon is in charge of arrangements.
Thomas, 61, died Monday, May 1, 1995, at John Cochran VA Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born April 8, 1934, in Cape Girardeau, son of Joe and Lilly Cunningham Thomas. He and Clara T. Kwasniewski were married June 30, 1956, in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Thomas was a salesman with Sure-Fine Foods of Evansville, Ind. He also had worked at Uncle Charlie's Meat Co. several years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert and Richard Thomas of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Joe Thomas of Mountain Home, Ark.; a sister, Faith Uylakie of Hammond, Ind., and four grandchildren.
