Alton B. Parker, 74, of O'Fallon, Mo., died Friday, Feb. 5, 1993, at De Paul Hospital St. Louis.
He was born Nov. 9, 1918, in Cape Girardeau, son of Hosea V. and Hattie M. Heniken Parker.
He worked as a U.S. Merchant Marine most of his life. He served with the U.S. Naval Reserve during World War II.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include a son, James A. Parker, of Florida; two daughters, Patsy Marquez of Mariposa, Calif., Barbara A. Cellucci of Milles, Mass.; two sisters, Alice Bowers of Cape Girardeau, Edna Sawyer of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel with Father Michael Voeller officiating.
Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery.
