ALTA ROGERS WILLIAMS

CAIRO, Ill. - Alta Rogers Williams, 81, of Cairo, Ill., died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1993, at the Union County Nursing Home in Anna, Ill.

She was born Aug. 12, 1912, at Carmi, Ill., daughter of Elmer and Betty Warrick Johnston.

She was a member of the St. Patricks Catholic Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Jody Shoulders of Murray, Ky., Mary Ann Simmons of Cairo, Jackie Phillips of Wickliffe, Ky.; a brother, Sam Johnston of Polo, Ill.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Earl Rodgers in 1960 and Joe M. Williams in 1983.

Friends may call from 2-3 p.m. Sunday at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo.

Graveside funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Calvary Cemetery in Villa Ridge, Ill., with the Rev. Father Jerome Fortenberry officiating.

Burial will follow.
