ALTA REED

ANNISTON -- Graveside service for Alta Reed of Anniston will be held at 10 a.m. today at Anniston Cemetery. Phil Nuernberger will officiate.

McMikle Funeral Home at Charleston is in charge of arrangements.

Reed, 85, died Sunday, May 17, 1998, at her home.

She was born May 13, 1913, at Senath, daughter of Norton and Myrtle Hawkins Campbell. She and Gaither Monroe Reed were married Oct. 10, 1937. He died Nov. 10, 1978.

Reed had been a self-employed beautician. She was a member of Charleston Church of Christ.

Survivors include two daughters, Jo Rutledge of Ashland, Miss., Margaret Burgess of East Prairie; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, three sisters, and a great-grandchild.
