ALTA GRIFFEY

DEXTER -- Funeral service for Alta I. Griffey of Colorado will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter. The Rev. Doyle Corlew of Essex will officiate, with burial in Walker Cemetery at Bloomfield.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Griffey, 86, died Tuesday, April 30, 1996, at the Exclusive Care Ranch in Arvada, Colo.

She was born Dec. 14, 1909, near Gray Ridge, daughter of R.P. and Sophia Jane Brazzeal Merritt. She and Dee O. Griffey were married Nov. 23, 1927, at Bloomfield. He died Dec. 12, 1992.

Survivors include a son, Bobby Griffey of Roy, Utah; a daughter, Regina Bravo of Denver, Colo.; eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
