SIKESTON, Mo. -- Alpha Plunk, 84, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at her home.
She was born Oct. 29, 1918, in Old Union, Tenn., daughter of John and Della Moore Burney. She married Claude Plunk, who died Dec. 23, 1992.
Plunk had worked at International Shoe Co. in Sikeston, Garment Factory in New Madrid, Mo., and retired as a presser at Grove Co. in Sikeston.
Survivors include two sons, Gerald Plunk of Sikeston, Charles Plunk of Matthews, Mo.; four daughters, Patricia Cook, Gail Lawrence, Betty Kelso and Carolyn Noles, all of Sikeston; a brother, John Burney of Bolivar, Tenn.; a sister, Captola Abernathy of Tennessee; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
