Aloma Carol Southard, 71, of Scott City died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at Heartland Care and Rehab.
She was born Oct. 16, 1945, in St. Louis to Clarence and Frances Wakefield Adams.
She and Thomas J. Southard were married Oct. 5, 1967, at St. Charles, Missouri. He preceded her in death.
She worked as a housekeeper for hotels and hospitals in St. Louis and for Drury Hotels over 20 years.
Carol enjoyed fishing and having fish fries for her family.
She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Tommie Jean Bowman of Cape Girardeau; brothers, Jimmy Adams of Omaha, Nebraska, Randy Adams of Foley, Missouri, and Tommy Adams of St. Charles; sisters, Iva Michaels of Idaho, Helen Guthry of Port Orchard, Washington, and Nancy Adams of Port Orchard; grandchild, Rodney Glover Jr. of Cape Girardeau; granddaughter, Sonya (boyfriend, Jeromy Pair) Glover of Scott City; and great-grandchildren Micheal Glover, Zachary Hill, Izzy Glover and Rodney Glover III.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Clarence Adams Jr.; and a sister, Joyce Brooks.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
