JACKSON -- Alma Williams, 72, of Crump, Mo., died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 13, 1921, at Crump, Mo., daughter of Jesse and Abba Proffer.
She married Arthur Williams in May 1941.
Williams retired in 1983 from the former International Shoe Company in Jackson where she had worked for more than 30 years.
She was an active member of the Bethlehem General Baptist Church in Crump, Mo.
She was a member of the Star Homemakers Club in Crump, Mo. She presently was the Secretary-Treasurer of the Barks Chapel Cemetery Association.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Pat Heckert of Cape Girardeau, two brothers, Troy Proffer and J.W. Proffer, both of Millersville; three sisters, Lucille Rhodes of Crump, Mo., Margie Proffer of Cape Girardeau, Ruth Taylor of Burfordville; and a grandson.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson, with the Rev. Wayne Johnson, the Rev. Luther Rhodes and the Rev. Willis Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.
