Alma T. Stammer, 81, died Saturday, March 23, 2002, at her home in Cape Girardeau.
Born March 5, 1921, in Cape Girardeau, she was the daughter of Fred and Minnie Geringer Stammer.
Stammer worked as a bookkeeper for Montgomery Ward for more than 30 years. She also managed the former Catholic Information Center for a number of years.
She belonged to St. Mary Cathedral and was a member of the Notre Dame Booster Club and St. Ann's Sodality.
Survivors include three nephews, James Maurer of Cape Girardeau, Donald Maurer and Ronald Maurer, both of St. Louis; three nieces, Vickie Westrich of Kelso, Mo., Dee Dee Siebert and Jody Grim, both of Cape Girardeau.
In addition to her parents, Stammer was preceded in death by a sister, Opal Maurer.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, with parish prayers at 7 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Monday in St. Mary Cathedral, with Monsignor Richard Rolwing as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
