Alma O. Shirrell, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, at the Lutheran Home. She was born Sept. 7, 1922, at Lutesville, daughter of David and Ida James Cloninger. She married Fred Shirrell. Shirrell had worked at International Shoe Co. She was a member of First Church of God, its WCG, and taught Sunday School many years. Alma O. Shirrell, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Sept. 7, 1922, at Lutesville, daughter of David and Ida James Cloninger. She married Fred Shirrell.

Shirrell had worked at International Shoe Co. She was a member of First Church of God, its WCG, and taught Sunday School many years. She was also a member of VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons, Marvin Shirrell of Cape Girardeau, David Shirrell of Jackson; two daughters, Betty Pender of Clifton, Ill., Sondra Crenshaw of Jackson; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel after 4:30 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Roger Christiansen officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
