JACKSON -- Alma L. Barks, 80, of Jackson, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 1995, at her home. She was born Jan. 3, 1915, at Millersville, daughter of Pete and Ida Schrock Sawyer. She first married Truman Seabaugh Sept. 30, 1932, who died Jan. 5, 1980. She then married Jacob Barks June 26, 1982. He died Nov. 4, 1990...

JACKSON -- Alma L. Barks, 80, of Jackson, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 1995, at her home.

She was born Jan. 3, 1915, at Millersville, daughter of Pete and Ida Schrock Sawyer. She first married Truman Seabaugh Sept. 30, 1932, who died Jan. 5, 1980. She then married Jacob Barks June 26, 1982. He died Nov. 4, 1990.

Barks moved to Jackson in 1944 from Whitewater. She had worked at the former Jackson Hosiery Mill 29 years, and at the former International Shoe Co. here nine years. She had been a volunteer at St. Francis Medical Center.

Survivors include a stepson, Harold Barks of Sikeston; a grandson; two great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren, and a friend, Owen Crites of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jack Leslie officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
