ALMA JANET

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Alma M. Janet, 85, of Perryville died Friday, June 29, 2001, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 29, 1916, at Perry County, Mo., daughter of John and Louise Fassold Blandford. She and Vallie Joseph Janet were married Nov. 7, 1931. He died April 19, 1979.

She had been a Goodyear stitcher at International Shoe and was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.

Survivors include two sons, Melvin "Chip" Janet of Cape Girardeau and Vallie "Pee Wee" Janet of Perryville; one brother, Chalmer Blandford of Perryville; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville and from 9-10 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Craig Otto officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
