JACKSON -- Alma Irene Proffer, 86, of Jackson died Saturday, March 20, 1999 at Southeast Hospital.
Born May 3, 1912, she was the daughter of Friedrick Henry and Lillie Day Loos. On July 12, 1930, she married Linville "Bill" Proffer.
He died Oct. 28, 1988.
She was a member of Old Salem Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Joan Scholz and one son, Rick Proffer both of Jackson; one sister Agnes Borgfield of Cape Girardeau; two half-sisters Georgia Meyer of Cape Girardeau and Francis Simpson of St. Louis; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three half-brothers.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Morris Cobb officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery.
