Alma "Snookie" Hunze, 91, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, at Lutheran Home.
She was born Dec. 3, 1927, in Cape Girardeau to Thomas and Alma Morrison Price. She married John Hunze. He preceded her in death in 1979.
Snookie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. She faithfully delivered church bulletins to those who couldn't attend services, as well as delivered Meals on Wheels. She worked many years as a clerk at Schultz School. She also worked at the "bubble" pool as well as the bowling alley.
She is survived by her nephew, Robert McBride (Janet Matlock) of Paducah, Kentucky; nieces, Kay McBride of Cape Girardeau, Mary Randall of Crowley, Texas, Terry (Bobby) Russell of Jackson, Jill (Fred) McLean of Paris, Tennessee, Patricia (Paul) Brown of Linn Creek, Missouri, Linda (Bob) Whaley of Cape Girardeau and Lucille (Al) Flohr of Florida; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Family and friends may gather from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Daniel Maske officiating. Interment will follow in Cape County Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran School or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
