CAIRO, Ill. -- Alma Hewitt, 90, of Kingsburg, Calif., died Monday, July 15, 1991, at Southern Hills Nursing Home in Tulsa, Okla.
She was born Aug. 10, 1900, at Pocahontas, Mo., daughter of Charles P. and Nora Foster Deimund. She married Melvin Hewitt Feb. 5, 1921, at Cairo.
Hewitt had also lived in Murphysboro and in Devner, Colo., where she was a buyer many years for Denver Dry Goods Co. She retired and moved to California. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Kingsburg.
Survivors include a son, Marvin Hewitt of Tulsa; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Hewitt of Denver; a brother, Charles Deimund of Denver; three sisters, Mena Kessler of Cairo, Marie Titmas of Kingsburg, Gladys East of Pahoa, Hawaii; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Hewitt in 1990; a sister and brother.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Lutheran Church in Tulsa. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Denver.
