Alma Gertrude Coomer, 102, of Arbor passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at her home. She was born Dec. 11, 1916, at High Ridge, Missouri, daughter of John W. and Clara A. Hendricks Wondel. Alma and Robert Rufus Coomer were united in marriage in April 1935 in Cape Girardeau County, and he preceded her in death June 29, 1996...

Alma Gertrude Coomer, 102, of Arbor passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at her home.

She was born Dec. 11, 1916, at High Ridge, Missouri, daughter of John W. and Clara A. Hendricks Wondel. Alma and Robert Rufus Coomer were united in marriage in April 1935 in Cape Girardeau County, and he preceded her in death June 29, 1996.

Alma spent her life being a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her flowers and taking care of her grandchildren.

She was a member of Arbor General Baptist Church. She was also a member of Arbor Ladies Missionary. In past years, she was a volunteer for the church's Bible school program.

Survivors include six sons, William A. (Dickie) Coomer of Whitewater, Russell E. (Evelyn) Coomer of Arbor, Robert K. (Linda) Coomer of Arbor, S. Dennis (Brenda) Coomer of Jackson, Dallis F. (Cindy) Coomer of Delta and Carman R. (Jeanenne) Coomer of Whitewater; three daughters, Wanda Estelle Wolfe of Chaffee, Missouri, Marilyn M. (Glenn) Ostendorf of Gordonville and Karen D. Coomer of Gordonville; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; nine great-stepgrandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Wesley A. Coomer; two grandsons; a stepgrandson; four brothers; and five sisters.

Visitation was Friday at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, Missouri.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Bob Bradford and Michael Huffman officiating. Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
