Alma L. Bock, 68, of Gordonville passed away Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born Jan. 18, 1938, near Jackson, the daughter of the late Ben and Frieda Soelig Schweer. She and Donald Bock were married on July 8, 1956, in Jackson. He passed away Dec. 28, 2005...

Alma L. Bock, 68, of Gordonville passed away Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 18, 1938, near Jackson, the daughter of the late Ben and Frieda Soelig Schweer. She and Donald Bock were married on July 8, 1956, in Jackson. He passed away Dec. 28, 2005.

Alma was a 1956 graduate of Jackson High School. She formerly worked for the Ginger Bread House, the Monticello House and the Lutheran Home, of which she worked for 10 years as an activities coordinator before retiring in May 2005 due to her health.

Alma was baptized and confirmed at Emanuel United Church of Christ, where she was a member of the Bethany Circle and a former children's Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star at Whitewater.

Loving survivors include two daughters, Debbie and Frank Trankler of Jackson and Pam and Scott Reynolds of Jackson; four grandchildren, Lance (Samantha) Trankler, Natalie Trankler and Kyle and Garret Reynolds; one sister, Earline and Norman Cadwell of Florissan, Mo.; one brother, Harold and Kathy Schweer of Cape Girardeau; a mother-in-law, Ruby Bock of Jackson; a sister-in-law, LaDonia and Stanley Beggs of Jackson; and a brother-in-law, Larry and Shirley Bock of Gordonville.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Alvin Bock, and one great-grandson, Hayden Trankler.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Lance and Samantha Trankler, Dean Beggs, Kyle and Garrett Reynolds, Natalie Trankler and Gary Leadbetter.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Alma Bock family or Emanuel United Church of Christ.
