Allene Ehlers-Schwab, 97, of Jackson died Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, at Jackson Manor.

She was born Oct. 23, 1917, in Cape Girardeau County, to Robert and Cora Metje. She and Arnold Ehlers were married in 1937. He preceded her in death in 1977. She then married Otto Schwab in 1981. He preceded her in death in 1995.

Allene worked at International Shoe Co. more than 10 years. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and St. Paul Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid in Jackson. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo.

Survivors include two sons, Glenn A. Ehlers and Carl E. (Judy) Ehlers of Cape Girardeau; two stepsons, David (Phyllis) Schwab and Roger (Pat) Schwab of Jackson; a stepdaughter, Joann (Weldon) Hilpert of Jackson; two grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; and 16 great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Arnold Ehlers and Otto Schwab; four brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jason Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Egypt Mills Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Egypt Mills Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
