Allene Edna Siemers Ainsworth, 102, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023, at Lutheran Home. Allene Edna Siemers Ainsworth, 102, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023, at Lutheran Home.

She was born Oct. 13, 1921, in Cape Girardeau County, the daughter of August Henry and Edna Ida Schwab Siemers. She and Leon Parker Ainsworth married Jan. 30, 1944, at Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. F.H. Melzer.

Most of Allene's life was spent in Cape Girardeau. She spent her childhood and young life on Siemers dairy farm, near the city limits of Cape Girardeau.

Allene was educated at Trinity Lutheran Grade School, College High School and Steimle Business and Secretarial School. She was a confirmed member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was active in Ladies Senior Aid and Campster Welfare Club. Allene loved to play cards and was an active member.

She and Leon loved to travel and fish. They made many lifelong friends while traveling. They made beautiful quilts, and she was an accomplished seamstress. She was employed at Western Adjustment Insurance Co. and assisted her husband, Leon, with Ainsworth Flooring Co.

Loving survivors include a son, David Leon (Teresa) Ainsworth of Honeoye Falls, New York; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Ainsworth of Grapevine, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Lee Ann (Randy) Brugger of Cape Girardeau and Aspen (Dan) Ainsworth-Rubin and Austin Ainsworth, both of Rochester, New York; grandson-in-law, Roger Popp of Jackson; stepgrandchild, Todd (Denice) Stitt of Grapevine; three great-grandchildren, Staci Schmucker (Ricky) of Benton, Missouri, Ryan (Morgan) Brugger of Gordonville and Penelope Hazel Rubin of Rochester; two great-stepgrandchildren, Taylor Stitt (Ashley Clark) of Sheridan, Arkansas, and Drew Stitt of Grapevine; great-great-grandchildren, August and Vincent Brugger; great-great-stepgranddaughters, Evi Shoultz and Delta Stitt; and many nieces and nephews.

Allene was preceded in death by a loving husband of more than 75 years, Leon Parker Ainsworth; parents, August Henry and Edna Ida Schwab Siemers; sister, Helen Siemers; three brothers, Harry, Art and Earl Siemers; son, Lynn Paul Ainsworth; and granddaughter, Monica Lynn Ainsworth Popp.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at Ford and Sons Funeral Home, 1001 N. Mount Auburn Road in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Short officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials, may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 100 N. Frederick St., Cape Girardeau, MO 63701 or Saxony High School, 2004 Saxony Lane, Jackson, MO 63755.
