Allen Wayne Phillips, 90, of Scott City died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 23, 1923, in Litchfield, Ill., to the Rev. Angus Brady and Sena Null Phillips. He married Lena Mae Alice Perkins on April 14, 1964. She preceded him in death Jan. 27, 2014.
Allen was a chief engineer with Luhr Brothers.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include four sons, Brady Phillips of Scott City, Melvin (Dana) Phillips of Columbia, Mo., Teddy Phillips of Centralia, Ill., and Angus Zyph of East Alton, Ill.; three daughters, Teresa McDaniel of Slater, Ky., Carol (David) Sandvos of Scott City and Kay Crooks of Centralia; a brother, Keith Phillips of Shawneetown; a sister-in-law, Lillian Phillips of Kinmundy, Ill.; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Myra Jane Phillips; three brothers, Robert, Marvin and Ted Phillips; and two sisters, Katie Whiteside and Myra Zyph.
Memorial visitation will be from 3 p.m. until time of service Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with military honors to be conducted.
