Alleen LaPlant Hudson, 88, of 123 N. Sunset died Sunday, April 9, 1995, at Fountain Bleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 15, 1906, in New Madrid County to George and Clara Tanner LaPlant.
She married Ralph Hudson in August 1974. He died July 5, 1975.
Hudson was a cottage parent at Soldiers and Sailors Children's Home in Normal, Ill., for 10 years. She and her husband also operated the Brown's Hotel and Restaurant in East Prairie and the Hudson Cafe in Sikeston for many years.
She lived much of her life in Mississippi and New Madrid counties and moved to Cape Girardeau after her husband's death.
Survivors are two daughters, Patty Mulkey of Cape Girardeau and Betty Wehner of St. Louis; two brothers, Shirley LaPlant of LaForge and Burnell LaPlant of East Prairie; a sister, June Brown of East Prairie; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by four brothers.
Graveside service will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Charleston today at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Neil Stein officiating.
