JACKSON -- Alida Doberenz, 76, of Jackson died Tuesday, March 16, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 31, 1916, at New Wells, the daughter of Oscar Jahn and Alma Tutz. On Nov. 1, 1941, she married Oscar Doberenz, who preceded her in death Dec. 29, 1976.
She had lived on a farm in Shawneetown her entire married life before moving in 1989 to Jackson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells, and later transferred to the Shawneetown Trinity Lutheran Church. She also provided home care for the elderly.
Survivors include a son, Raymond Doberenz of Copperas Cove, Texas; two daughters, Mildred Koeppel of Jackson and Doris Weissmueller of Gordonville; a brother, Eldor Jahn of Jackson; and five grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a grandson.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, and funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown. The Rev. Howard Mueller will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery.
