ALIDA BIRKHEAD

EAST PRAIRIE -- Alida A. Birkhead, 83, of East Prairie died Friday, Jan. 26, 1996, at East Prairie Nursing Center after an extended illness.

She was born April 21, 1912, in Iron Mountain, Mich., daughter of the late Albert and Beda Floodman Peterson.

She was a retired operating room suprvisor for the V.A. Medical Center in Livermore, Calif. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sun City, Ariz., and past president of the Presbyterian Women's Association in Sun City.

She married William T. Birkhead of East Prairie on Oct. 27, 1951. He survives.

Also surviving are a sister, Alberta Carlson of Negaunee, Mich., and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Nelson United Methodist Church in East Prairie with the Rev. Jerry Willer, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City, Ariz.
