Alice V. Williams, 76, of Cape Girardeau, died March 25, 1995, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 8, 1918, in Birch Tree, the daughter of Oliver and Sally Crawford Townsend. She was married to Erie Williams May 22, 1944, in Pigott, Ark.
Williams grew up in Stoddard County near Puxico and graduated from Puxico High School. She attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau and taught school in Stoddard and Scott counties from 1940-1944.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Phillip Williams of Indianapolis, Ind., and Randall Williams of Midland, Texas; five sisters, Olive Townsend and Susan Harmon of Puxico, Maggie Summers of Rodgers, Ark., Bessie Johnson of Alexandria, Va., and Eunice Lewis of Hamilton City, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, where funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Dr. Larry Gallamore will officiate, and burial will be in New Salem Cemetery in Tunnel Hill, Ill.
