Alice Marie Johnson, 63, of Cape Girardeau went to her eternal rest in heaven Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center, after a long, courageous battle with Huntington's disease.
She was born Aug. 27, 1951, in Oran, Missouri, to Anthony "Tony" and Mary Geneva Wanger Hulshof. She and Doug Johnson were married June 15, 1974, at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran.
Alice was a graduate of Scott County Central High School. She had worked at Florsheim Shoe in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of St. Mary Cathedral.
Survivors include her husband, Doug Johnson of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Amy (Jesse) Martin of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Gerard Hulshof of Kansas City, Missouri; and a sister, Barbara (Gary) Trankler of O'Fallon, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Hulshof; two sisters, Dorothy Borchelt and Rita Kuss.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers and rosary will be at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Cathedral, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
