Funeral for Alice F. Hayes of Cape Girardeau will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson, Mo. Msgr. Ed Eftink will officiate. Burial will be at 2:15 p.m. in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7:30.
Hayes, 70, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at the home of a daughter in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 23, 1932, in St. Louis, daughter of Henry and Mary Waldrof Stecher. She and Martin "Bud" Hayes were married Oct. 2, 1954, in St. Louis. He died Jan. 23, 1995.
Hayes was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Hayes of Elmwood, Ill., Dennis Hayes of St. Louis, Pat Hayes of Auxvasse, Mo.; two daughters, Beth Ruchman of St. Louis and Jean Turnbough of Cape Girardeau.
Also surviving are four brothers, Fred, Tom and Earl Stecher of St. Louis, Hank Stecher of Kansas City, Kan.; six sisters, Rose Palazola, Marie McCay, Shirley Becker, Katie Dickens and Helen Bye, all of St. Louis, Ginny Johnson of Long Boat, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
