PERRYVILLE -- Alfred P. Wucher, 94, of Perryville died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1997, at Perry County Nursing Home.
He was born July 10, 1902, at Old Appleton, son of William B. and Louise E. Unterreiner Wucher. He and Anita O. Ruppel were married Nov. 21, 1925. She died Oct. 29, 1995.
Wucher was retired from International Shoe Co. He sang in the Apple Creek Brass Band in the 1930s, and Perryville Melody Boys Band in the 1940s.
He was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, and Western Catholic Union.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Gross of Chester, Ill.; a brother, Leo Wucher of St. Louis; a sister, Laura Hoffman of St. Louis; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, brother, and four sisters.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. today, and Saturday from 6:30-8:40 a.m. The parish wake is at 7 tonight.
Funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
