PERRYVILLE -- Funeral service for Alfred P. Schmidt of Perryville will be held at 2 p.m. today at Young and Sons Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jerry Kelly will officiate, with burial in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to service time.
Schmidt, 66, died Friday, Feb. 16, 1996, at his home.
He was born May 17, 1929, in Granite City, Ill., son of Martin and Marie Toleta Brown Schmidt. He and Elizabeth Aurich were married June 15, 1957. She died Dec. 25, 1992.
Schmidt was a retired carpenter. He was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Amvets. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include five daughters, Kristine Crump, Kathleen Capps, Charlene Schmidt, Marlene Brown and Marilyn Schmidt, all of Perryville; a brother, Franklin Schmidt of Perryville; two sisters, Rose Schmidt and Dorothy Traut of Perryville, and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons.
