Alfred F. Moeller Jr., 85, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 3, 2017, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 23, 1932, in Ste. Genevieve, son of Alfred F. and Anna Miermann Moeller.
Alfred grew up in Ste. Genevieve and completed his education by receiving a chemical-engineering degree from Rolla School of Mines in Rolla, Missouri.
He worked for Standard Oil Company for several years and retired from Monsanto, where he was a member of the team that developed Roundup weed killer.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Loren Boettcher officiating.
McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
