GRAND CHAIN, Ill. -- Alfred H. Easter, 88, of Grand Chain died Friday, June 16, 2000, at his home.

He was a retired riverboat captain for the Missouri Barge Line Co. He was a member of the Ohio Chapel United Methodist Church at Grand Chain, the Grand Chain Masonic Lodge #660 and the Association of Retired Marine Personnel of Paducah.

Survivors include his wife, Floy Metcalf Easter of Grand Chain; a daughter, Phyllis Helm of Grand Chain; a sister, Irene Maulden of Onstead, Mich.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, two sisters and three brothers.

Friends may call from 1-2:30 p.m. today at Ohio Chapel United Methodist Church in Grand Chain.

Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. today, with the Revs. Steve Heisner and Joe Dunning officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak is in charge of arrangements.
