Alex Ryan Irvin, 6, of Scott City died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at his home. He was born March 4, 2003, in Cape Girardeau, son of Simon Irvin and Amy Hughes. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Scott City. Alex Ryan Irvin, 6, of Scott City died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at his home.

He was born March 4, 2003, in Cape Girardeau, son of Simon Irvin and Amy Hughes.

He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Scott City.

Survivors include his mother, Amy Hughes of Scott City; father, Simon Irvin of Kansas City, Mo.; grandparents, Norman and Sharon Hughes and Tom and Sydney Irvin of Scott City; aunts and uncles, Lisa Hughes and Jennifer Hughes of Scott City, Mark Hughes and Tracy Hughes of Villa Ridge, Ill., Richie and Kelly Irvin of Scott City, Theresa Irvin of St. Louis, Rebekah Irvin and Samuel Irvin of Scott City.

He was preceded in death by great-grandparents Carl and Mary McHughes of Anna, Ill., and Norman and Rose Hughes of Jackson.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Oliver Clavin officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Louis Children's Hospital, One Children's Place, St. Louis, MO 63110.
