Alex P. Hodges, 20, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

He was born Feb. 15, 1993, in Cape Girardeau to Derieck and Maureen Chase Hodges. He was a 2011 high school graduate and currently was working at Mace Construction.

Alex was an avid outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed duck hunting, trucks, country music, comedy movies and spending time with friends.

Loving survivors include his parents of Jackson; daughter, Madalyn "Maddi" Doyle; a sister, Amanda Jacobs (Dustin Sitze) of Cape Girardeau; fiancee Paige Kimbel of Jackson, who is expecting their child in December; paternal grandparents, Bill and Joan Hodges of Scott City; maternal grandparents, Charlie and Audrey Chase of East Peoria, Ill.; paternal great-grandmother, Leola Poole of Jackson; and maternal great-grandmother, Evelyn Chase of St. Mary's, Pa.

Both the visitation and funeral will be at New McKendree South Campus.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday.

The funeral will be at noon Saturday, with the Rev. David Israel officiating, and the Rev. Jeff Sippy, Alex's godfather, delivering the eulogy. Interment will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to a fund to benefit Alex's children: Friends of Alex Hodges, c/o The Bank of Missouri, 2492 E. Main St., Jackson, MO 63755.
