After a hard three-and-half year fight against breast cancer, Alex Brooke Beck passed away Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center, surrounded by her husband, children, parents and loving family.
She was born Feb. 3, 1988, in Columbus, Georgia, to Laura Felter and Derrick Voerg.
Alex was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School and Metro Business College. She enjoyed her work with animals at Skyview Animal Hospital and Deer Creek Doggie Day Camp. She loved walking in nature, water and finding heart rocks. Alex loved dancing, and would anytime she could.
Promoting breast self-exam awareness was one of her passions.
Alex was married to Christopher Daniel Beck of Cape Girardeau on July 11, 2017, and was the very proud mother to their children, Brinley Elise and Bryson Carter Beck. She had been with Chris since they met in high school 20 years ago.
Alex is survived by her husband and children; mother, Laura Felter (August) Ritter; father, Derrick (Sherri Warren) Voerg; sisters, Amber Voerg, Ashlie (Jami Purcell) Voerg and Kaitlen Ritter (Caleb) Stewart; brothers, Graham (Taylor Secrest) Ritter and Evan (Caroline Harding) Ritter; grandparents, Charles and Verena Felter and Ann Ritter; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Alex is also survived by her mother-in-law, Nicole Williams; father-in-law, Danny (Jamie) Beck; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Britney (Andrew) Hale, Zachery Beck, Jessica Beck, Wade (Chasidy) Terry, Megan (Kody) Armstrong, Wyatt (Alyson Estes) Thomas and Matthew Thomas.
Alex was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Shirlene Voerg and Raymond Ritter, all of whom she loved very much; father-in-law, Christopher Williams; and mother-in-law Barbara Beck.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, at La Croix United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Ron Watts officiating.
