Alen James, 85, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Olive Branch, Ill., died Thursday, April 1, 2010, at his home.
He was born March 21, 1925, in St. Louis. He and Cheryl Grant were married July 27, 1985.
James served in the U.S. Army.
He worked as a school bus mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; nine children, including Mathew James of Cape Girardeau; a stepson, Josh Lynn of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada; a brother and a sister.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to service time Thursday at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Buckles officiating. Interment will be in National Cemetery at Mound City, Ill.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
