ORAN, Mo. — Aleda Joan Allen, 76, of St. Louis passed away peacefully at 4:55 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, from heart failure at Woodland Manor Nursing Center in Arnold, Missouri.
She was born June 23, 1940, in Cape Girardeau to Clifford and Geneva Allen and was raised in Oran.
Aleda graduated from Oran High School in 1959 and attended Southeast Missouri State University.
She taught one year at Guardian Angel School in Oran. She later moved to St. Louis and worked for various companies until her retirement in 2008.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lanny Allen; sister, Marilyn Sue Allen; and brother-in-law, Kenny Kirk.
Aleda is survived by two sisters, Veronica L. Kirk of Jackson and Lenore Allen of Denver; and a brother, Gene O. Allen of Ozark, Missouri.
A Mass will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop as the celebrant. A private burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be sent to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
