THEBES, Ill. -- Alberta V. Holshouser, 78, Thebes Route 1, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Oct. 1, 1913, at McClure, daughter of Eugene and Daisy Lawrence Kaufman. She married Bert Holshouser Dec. 20, 1930, in Jonesboro, Ill. He died Nov. 22, 1980.
Holshouser was a member of Free Will Baptist Church at Olive Branch.
Survivors include five sons, Lloyd and Kenneth Holshouser of Anna, Lennis Holshouser of South Africa, Douglas Holshouser of Marble Hill, Mo., David Holshouser of Jackson, Mo.; four daughters, Geraldean Forehand of Cahokia, Ruth Orick and Doris Snell of Thebes, Barbara Verble of Wolf Lake; a brother, John Kaufman of Cairo; a sister, Gladys Matlock of McClure; 31 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, four brothers, two sisters, and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel in Cape Girardeau, Mo. The Rev. Charles Horton will officiate, with burial in Lindsey Cemetery at McClure.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. today.
